Ramon Garcia was only fifteen years old when he first starts planning this escape. He realized that to get his freedom, he needs to escape from his beloved Cuba. In order to accomplish this, he will need a very important element: a compass. While thinking of places where he could find one, he remembers that in his school, in one of the classrooms, there is a very old compass, which he would later steal to help him on his journey to freedom. In the midst to all the planning he could not help to feel great sorrow escaping from the place where he was born and raised, the land where he was once the happiest, but a land that has become so hostile and unbearable to those who could not agree and accept the new strict government regimen.
