During an amphitheater show, Esca (Jamie Bell) is forced to fight a gladiator to death but he realizes it’s only to serve as entertainment to the crowd so he refuses to fight. As the gladiator has Esca pinned he seeks the audience’s approval of life or death for Esca. Marcus Flavius Aquila (Channing Tatum) convinces the crowd to let Esca live, ultimately saving his life.

In 2nd-Century Britain, celebrated Roman soldier Marcus Aquila (Channing Tatum) embarks on a dangerous quest to restore the tarnished reputation of his father and find the golden emblem that disappeared with him and thousands of troops twenty years earlier.
